Soldier's Point Coastguard Station
A post card of Soldier's Point Coastguard Station taken pre. 1930. It shows the sea lapping the wall of theFlag staff enclosure in front of the houses and the boat house with three windows on the left (demolished some years ago) with McArdle Moore's Public House between it and the Station, a private residence since the war years. The wet area was reclaimed with spoil from the river dredgings in the 1930's and 70's and now houses the local sewerage treatment plant.
