This is my Great Grandfather! He was also a coastguard at Pegwell Bay in Kent, where his children were born. I was told a story by my late Grandfather that as a boy, he watched a famous ship sink off the coast of Ireland. I forget which one now sadly.
Great Grandad ran the Victoria pub in Perranuthnoe when he retired from the Coastguard.
