From the late 1820's the Admiralty published quarterly officers lists which were printed yearly in small books called "Navy Lists". Locations of officers, and ships, world wide were printed in these little volumes. Included were lists of Officers employed in the service of the coastguard in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The National Library, Kildare Street, in Dublin holds a number of these books, valuable to genealogical researchers, however the number of volumes is limited.
My records are fairly complete from 1838 to 1877 with a scattering of years obtained elsewhere. Out of 17,500 entries taken from these books I have extracted Officers in charge of stations in Ireland dating from 1837 to 1920.
