Hi Everyone, First timer poster here who is clutching at straws. I am trying to trace my ggg Grandfather Walter Glover who is listed as the father here http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/a303e20155788. He is also listed as father of the bride here http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/8a0da00031264 His occupation is listed as a soldier. I had a military researcher in the UK to have a look for Walter’s record. No luck there, I’m afraid. He claimed that the following regiments were in the area at the time (47t,68th,71st,77th,85th and 95th Foot Regiments) and no sign of Walter. Due to the Castletownbere connection I was wondering if he may have served as a coastguard or have been in the naval service. Any advice would be much appreciated. |
