Hi all I'm looking for any information on my Grandfather Alexander Wolsey McGowan OR any suggestions as to where I might start researching? I never knew my Grandfather and I've only recently found out he was in the Merchant Navy. Most recently whilst researching my family history I obtained the death certificate of my Great Grandmother who lived in CARRICKFERGUS until 1950 and Alexander had signed as a witness. His profession was listed as H.M Coastguard Petty Officer. Alex lived in GRAYMOUNT, SHORE ROAD and died ten years later in 1960. That's all I have to go on unfortunately!! I have no idea where he was stationed and/or for how long but would like to find out more if I can. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Regards........ |
