Hello I am new to your forum but have joined in the hope that a knowledgeable member may have come across a missing ancestor of mine in their travels. I know the family were connected to the sea but how is another matter! So what I would like please is is to know if anyone has come across the name CRICKMAY.This would be around 1800-1840. thank you all for your time in looking at this. |

Hi and welcome to the Forum. I have checked all the obvious sources linked to the RN or the CG Service, and only came up with a name for a much later time period. To search all the early CG Establishment Books, when there is only a chance that he served, is a tremendous job, particularly when there is no real starting point, such as a possible area. If you were able to provide a little more information i.e. first name, where the family were from, it could help. Regards Martin |

Thank you Martin for the reply.Sorry! The Crickmay family were in Sufflok(Beccles) Norfolk(Great Yarmouth) and good old London town near the docks. The particular CRICKMAY that I am looking for is Charles however as you can imagine with an unusaual surname like this any that are found are likely to belong to me in some way. ![]() Thank you for looking for me. Regards Sue |
