I am trying to trace a James Stark, his daughter Francis married my GGrandfather Charles Greer in 1855, on the marriage certificate it gives the occupation of both the groom and his father as coastguards(i have information on those) and also the brides father is listed as a coastguard. I have checked the national Archives but he does not seem to be there. Has anyone come across this name in their researches? Thanks Colin Kavanagh |

The 'British Coastguards' web site list the following person, who may be your man: Stark, James (NBL) 1802 Berwick on Tweed 1851 North Queensferry FIF 1861 Burntisland FIF Wife: Margaret, 1806, ENG. Children: Mary J & Thomas & George B, 1839 & 1849 & 1850, ENG. Regards Roger Willoughby
