I have the BWM and LS&GC to : Arthur Henry Chalk At the bottom of his service record it states that "Transferred to Coastguard (NF) 1-5-19 See Special Register" Can anyone please expand on the "Special Register" Thanks Ian I'll try and load a copy of the SR |

Ian, It is a new record of service, similar to the one below. Found in ADM 175 at The National Archives (TNA). Unfortunately ADM 175 records are not online, but are available on microfilm at TNA. Assuming that this is your man: - Name Chalk, Arthur Henry Official Number: 278385 Place of Birth: Southampton, Hampshire then his record should be here: - ADM 175/89 R.N. Ratings Nos. 195001-358500 [1919-1923] http://www.nation...ssmethod=5

My apologies for making this a double-post. Depending on Arthur H Chalk's rank in the Coast Guard there may be also a rcord card for him. An example is below. This card has information front and back. If there is one it will be here: - ADM 175/82A Record cards A - C [1900-1923] http://www.nation...ssmethod=5
