This group of buildings is remarkably well preserved and with little change in surroundings from when originally built. The land nearby is liable to flooding and is a wildlife sanctuary. There are two rows of cottages, a boat house and separate washroom. The main station is a two story building and is now a private residence. Formerly it had a boathouse at ground level with lookout post in upper floor. It dates from 1822 when the station was first established and the cottages date from 1837.
